SMITH, JESSIE GLENDEAN - 1911 - 2012 - Jessie Smith passed away peacefully at the Moncton Hospital on Tuesday, June 5, 2012 at the age of 100. Born in Berry Mills, NB she was the daughter of the late Reuben and Mina (Lutes) Steeves. Jessie was a member of the Dorchester United Baptist Church, a former member of the Sunshine Class, as well, as a former member of the L.O.B.A. She will be sadly missed by four sons; Bernard (Geraldine) of Shubenacadie, NS, Robert (Janice) of Mattatal Lake, NS, Kenneth (Jean) of Moncton, Gary (Carrolyn) of Moncton, three daughters; Jean (William) Renton of Stilesville, Viva (Lea) Briggs of Steeves Mountain and Ruth (Wayne) Brown of Indian Mountain. She is also survived by 21 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter, one sister Elsie Robertson of Truro, sister-in-law Luetta Steeves of Moncton as well as one niece and three nephews. Besides her parents Jessie was predeceased by her husband Raymond Ernest Smith, one son David Smith one brother Cecil Steeves as well as one granddaughter Beverley Smith.

Resting at Fair Haven Funeral Home with visitation on Thursday, June 7, 2012 from 12 to 1:50 pm followed by a funeral service at the Chapel at 2:00 pm. Interment in Fair Haven Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers memorial donations in Jessie's memory may be made to the charity of the donor's choice. A book of condolences may be signed at www.fairhavenmemorial.ca.
