CARMI RESIDENT CHARGED With MANSLAUGHTER Tuesday, May 27, 1919. At the Vernon Assizes, Richard L. Miles, the Negro merchant of Carmi, was tried for causing the DEATH of two Indians through selling them ? WOOD ALCOHOL?. The jury in 15 minutes found him guilty of Manslaughter.
