WRIGHT, Erma Margaret (nee McKay) June 6, 1910 - July 24, 2010 Born in Minnedosa, Manitoba. Passed away peacefully with family by her side at Crofton Manor in Vancouver. Predeceased by her loving husband of 58 years Eric Nicholas, and her brothers Bob and Doug McKay. Devoted mother of Nancy and Nick (Lesley) and grandmother of Jon, David Eric, Jacqueline and Eric Nicholas. Erma was in her 101st year, and lived every day with grace, love and compassion. We will miss her dearly. Her 100th birthday celebration with family and friends was a proud and joyful event for mom. Eric and Erma were married in Newfoundland in 1942, and after the war settled in Winnipeg. Mom fondly remembered the many summers spent at the cottage at Lake of the Woods. They moved to Toronto in 1964, and enjoyed many wonderful years there. Mom was a committed volunteer in both Winnipeg and Toronto, particularly with Canadian Red Cross and Meals on Wheels. In 1998 Eric and Erma moved to Vancouver to be closer to family. Much gratitude and thanks to Dr. Anne Marie Falk, Pauline Westhead and all of the staff at Crofton Manor who helped to make mom`s later years comfortable and enjoyable. A private family service will be held to celebrate Erma`s life at St Mary`s Anglican Church Kerrisdale. In lieu of flowers, donations to the The Vancouver Hospice Society ( and 604-737-7305) or a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
