BEDFORD, MARIE ELISE - 1905 - 2013 - Marie E. Bedford, of the Salvation Army Lakeview Manor Nursing Home in Riverview passed away at her residence on Thursday, March 14, 2013 in her 108th year. Born in Leger Corner, NB on October 10, 1905 she was the daughter of the late Henry and Barbie (Cormier) Leger. Marie was a former member of Holy Family and St. Bernard's Roman Catholic Churches and a member of the St. Bernard's Catholic Women's League. Marie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Marie was a very special lady and will be remembered for her kind and giving ways. Her secret to living such a long life was by being good and enjoying her small portion of sparkling wine every evening. In recognition of her long life she received certificates and letters of congratulations from many organizations including Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth, The Govenor General of Canada, The NB Government, and The Town of Riverview.

She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She is survived by her only son George and his wife Carolyn Bedford of Pictou, NS; grandchildren Robert Bedford of Perth Australia and Kathleen English of Pictou, NS; great grandson Nicholas English of Pictou, NS.

Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband Charles W. Bedford in 2000; sisters Bessie Leger, Julia LeBlanc, Irene Belliveau, Nora Cormier and Doris Tessier; brothers Christopher, Ernest and Arthur Leger.

Visitation will be held at Tuttle Brothers Funeral Home on Sunday, March 17, 2013 from 2:00pm to 4:00pm. The funeral mass will be held at St. Bernard's Roman Catholic Church on Monday, March 18, 2013 at 11:00 am with Father Allison Carroll officiating. Interment will be in the Shediac Road Cemetery in the spring. Arrangements have been entrusted to Tuttle Bros. Funeral Home 171 Lutz Street, Moncton, NB (506) 857-8564.
