GERALD WILLIAM BROWN Passed away April 7, 2010 in his 98th year. Gerry will be greatly missed by his family: daughter and son-in-law, Susan C. Brown and Douglas H. Simpson of To ronto, sister Irene Moffet, whom he visited in Sun City, Arizona this past November to celebrate her 100th birthday, and by Doug's mother and sister, Marie Jean Harvey and Deborah-Lee Simpson, both of Oakville, Ontario. Predeceased by his wife of almost 60 years, Marion F. Brown (née Earl of Winnipeg, Manitoba) and by his sisters, Freddie McMillan of Santa Rosa, California and Madge Olson of Winnipeg, Manitoba. Gerry was born in Marengo, Iowa, beloved son of Lela and Fred Brown, who resided in Osage and Regina, Saskatchewan. A graduate of the University of Saskatchewan, he moved to Winnipeg in the late 1940's and, since 1956, resided in Richmond Hill, Ontario. The family will welcome friends at MOUNT PLEASANT CEMETERY & VISITATION CENTRE, 375 Mount Pleasant Road, Toronto, (east gate entrance, north of St. Clair Ave., 416-485-5572) on Friday, April 16th from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. A Funeral Service in Celebration of Gerry's Life will be held in the Chapel at the Visitation Centre on Saturday, April 17th at 11:00 am. Interment in Mount Pleasant Cemetery with Reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations are gratefully accepted to Sunnybrook Foundation, Odette Cancer Centre or Canadian Cancer Society.
