GROUNDWATER, VIOLA K. - Viola K. Groundwater, 91, of Spencer Memorial Home, Moncton, and formerly of Lutes Mountain, with loving family members at her side, passed away peacefully at The Moncton Hospital on Wednesday evening, July 23, 2014. Born in Stilesville, she was the daughter of the late Leslie and Ina (Hicks) Kelly. Viola was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, quilting, cooking, socializing with her friends and spending precious time with her family. Viola will be sadly missed by her daughters, Linda Simpson (Wendell) of Lutes Mountain, Carol Snowdon (Lee) of Riverview and Sandra Osborne (Sonny) of Salisbury; son, David (Donna) of Lutes Mountain; precious grandchildren, Timmy, Nancy, Shelby, Jayme, Kenzie, Tanya, Tricia and Scott; cherished great-grandchildren, Meghan, Katelyn, Hannah, Camden, Hudson, Sage, Jayden, Nolan, Morgan and Logan; sister, Ruth Murray (Paul) of Upper Coverdale; brothers, Charles Kelly (Carol) of Irishtown, Bradley Kelly (Jeannine) of Moncton, Weymond Kelly of Riverview; several nieces, nephews and extended family. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Cecil B. Groundwater (1989); sisters, Leta, Zelda, Julia, Annie and Henrietta; brothers, Ken and Richard.
Visitation at Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995) on Saturday from 6:00 to 9:00 pm. Funeral Service at Fergusons Funeral Home Chapel on Sunday, July 27, 2014 at 2:00 pm, with Rev. Gordon Horsman officiating. Reception in the Funeral Home Reception Centre following the service. Interment, Stilesville Cemetery.
