Title: Obituary

LEWIS, STEPHEN - Stephen Lewis, 96, formerly of Hillgrove and Petitcodiac, passed away peacefully with his family by his side at the Jordan Lifecare Centre on December 2, 2013. Born in Salisbury, he was a son of the late Hartley and Emily (nee Yoe) Lewis, and the husband of the late Eleanor Lewis (nee Bishop). Everyone will fondly remember Stephen as an avid outdoorsman and hunter. He was a veteran of WWII, who proudly defended his country overseas. A farmer for many years, and he then worked and retired from Fawcett?s in Petitcodiac. He attended the Petitcodiac Baptist Church, and he was also a long-time volunteer with the Westmorland County Agricultural Fair. Stephen will be sadly missed by his 5 boys and their spouses: Reg & Sherrill, Gary & Althea, Jack & Carol, Gordon & Louise, Craig & Sharon; his cherished 13 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; his sister Marion Freeman; as well as by many extended family members and friends. Besides his wife and parents, Stephen was predeceased by his great-great-grandson, Oliver; his sisters: Lena Archibald, Minnie Montgomery, and Grace Lewis; his brothers: Cecil and Joseph.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the professional care of Armstrong?s Funeral Home, 33 Russell Street, Petitcodiac (506-756-3361) from where visitation will be held on Thursday, December 5, 2013 from 2 to 4 & 7 to 9 pm; the funeral service will be held on Friday, December 6, 2013 at 1:00 pm at the Petitcodiac Baptist Church with Rev. David Woodworth presiding. Interment will be held in Maplewood Cemetery.
