Annie Murray

Annie Murray MURRAY CORNER, NB - The death of Annie Murray, age 98, of Murray Corner, NB, occurred at The Moncton City Hospital on Friday, October 29, 2004. Born in Birmingham, England, she was a daughter of the late Dixon and Ada Hayes and foster child of the late Acomb and Elizabeth Allen. Immigrating from England in 1911, she was one of the oldest members of the community. Annie was a member of the Murray Corner United Church, the East Westmorland Senior Citizens Club and the Women's Institute. Annie will be sadly missed by her son, Steward (Donna), Murray Corner; and her six daughters, Eileen (Eugene) Cameron, Sackville, Cora Parker, Marla Rogers and Donna Banting, all of Moncton, Louise (Guy) Trenholm, Port Elgin and Joy (Bill) Bubar, Mount Hope, ON; 24 grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; 41 great grandchildren; six step-great grandchildren; and 16 great great grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Rachael Murray; and sister-in-law, Vera Allen. She was predeceased by her husband, Waldo in 1973; her sons, Douglas and Lysle; a daughter, Viva; and a foster brother, Myers Allen. The remains are resting at the Jones Funeral Home, 3 W. Main Street, Port Elgin (364-1300), with visitation Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Monday, November 1, 2004 at 2 pm, Rev. Dr. Jamie Gripton officiating. Burial in the Fernwood Cemetery, Port Elgin.
